Baggins Frodo

A hobbit from the Shire, nephew and foster son of Bilbo Baggins, member of the Fellowship of the Ring, minstrel and writer who composed the second part of the Red Book of Westmarch. Born in year 2968 of the Third Age. In 2980, after the death of his parents, Frodo was adopted by Bilbo and moved to Bag End. In year 3001 he was declared heir of Bag End and the rest of Bilbo’s property, including the One Ring.

In 3018 Gandalf advised Frodo to flee to Rivendell, as rumors spread that the Nazgul were abroad again. On his way to Rivendell, he met Strider, whose true identity as Aragorn Isildur’s heir was still held secret, and received a poison wound from a Nazgul blade. In Rivendell he was healed, and took part in the Council of Elrond. He willingly took upon himself the burden of taking the Ring to Mordor and casting it into the Fire to destroy the Dark Lord forever. After a long and perilous journey, Frodo and Samwise Gamgee made it to Mount Doom, but there Frodo gave in to the will of the Ring and declared himself its new master. The mission would have failed then if Gollum hadn’t bitten the Ring of Frodo’s finger and fallen into the chasm.

After the War of the Ring was over, Frodo settled down in the Shire again, but his wounds were constantly rendering him ill. He passed his Thainship to Samwise and departed over the Sea with Gandalf and Bilbo in year 3021.
